Strawberry Heart Gateaux ♥
Made for a very special someone on a very special day...
I spent most of yesterday preparing, baking and decorating this cake (*^^*)
It is filled with fresh strawberry chunks and freshly thick whipped cream, topped of with strawberry syrup glazed fresh strawberries and decorated with fresh whipped cream on the top and sides.
I took me all afternoon, and then I had to wait for the cake layers to cool down completely before preparing the cream and strawberry filling and then finally filling it and placing the layers together. Afterwards, I had to make the syrup glazing to gel the strawberries to the top with a nice glossy thick glaze.
I don't use electric beaters, since I prefer to do it all by hand. Then this morning, I finished it off with the fresh whipped cream decorative piping; beautifying the top, and filling in the area between the cake layers (the cream filling doesn't go right to the edge in case it overspills and looks messy, I left about 3mm edge, enough for the decorative cream right at the end).
