I have 'progressed'!!

I know it's been a while, but as I have said in my previous post, I had a major exam to prepare for.
An exam that will determine my career; decided in one hour! You get instant feedback straight away, so you know whether you passed or failed (as waiting for the official announcements means waiting for all the committee boards to be notified and approve of it, so you'll be hanging around wasting time). Instant death situation!!!

So I was reading and reading and preparing all I can for it. Thus, my lack of activity on here. I simply didn't really have much to report on, apart from my pile up of various work whilst I 'studied'.

Every one else's 'viva voce' or 'progression exam' lasted in and around 1 hour. How long was I in there for? 1 hour 40mins! (>.<;)

They were reluctant to let me go easily and persistently interrogated me to see if I swayed. They really tried to find the weaknesses in my research and reports and tried to give me a good 'grilling', 'roasting'... basically, trying to make me feel miserable and slip up somewhere; just like in a real interrogation haha!

Same question asked in a million different ways...

My supervisors said that I was well into my PhD, much further in than a lot of students even though I'm only 10 months in, and I'm thoroughly prepared, so it should be reasonably easy for me. However, it seemed that the examiners didn't want to let me have an easy time in there haha! Then again, I made them read over 30K words in the documents I submitted.. perhaps they weren't too happy about that.. haha oops.

So 1 hour 40mins afterwards I emerged rather buzzing and numb from brain overheat/overwork!
And my supervisors were inside with the external panel for a discussion of the feedback and the results.
I had to wait ANOTHER 45 minutes!!! (>.<;) I didn't think I'd fail, but the waiting sure is frustrating.

But...

I aced it! Apparently my supervisors weren't worried at all and weren't even discussing about the results, failing was out of the question.. they were discussing OTHER matters.. (=.=;)
It seems nobody was bothered nor surprised that I passed as they all expected it, so I was the only one who was rather relieved (>.<;)

Official announcements will be made at the committee at the end of this month, but I have been notified that I have 'progressed' or 'passed' my exam by my supervisors and the Director of PhD research. So I guess it's for definite (*^^*)
This also means I'm the ONLY student to have passed BOTH my research modules, achieving 60 credits within 8 months of registering/enrolling and passing my progression exam before 10 months (*^^*). Additionally I'm the research student representative for the faculty and a scholarship holder..
Boy, my CV (curriculum vitae/ resume) is filling up nicely (*^^*)

Time for treats I think! Any one for ice-cream?

(*^.~*)
