Stop the clock...

Time has flown by, and so much has happened but yet at the same I feel like barely anything has changed...

I haven't been writing much, simply I felt there was little to say, and perhaps things I wanted to say felt wrong to disclose. I think the last time I had written was in July, briefly, and the time before that was in May. I can't believe it's September already.



All in all, my life has been fairly uneventful generally. PhD data work has taken over my life and I have been somewhat reclusive. Interviews, transcribing, analysing, paper editing... pretty much sums up my work life right now.

Term is going to start soon, so the campus is gradually getting more lively and then will come the inevitable; when cafes and refectories/canteens will be absolutely packed with students...
It wouldn't be so bad if the students weren't so rude and ignorant. Half of the students in the faculty are internationals who can barely speak English; it proves difficult trying to converse with them let alone teach them or even give them directions to the offices or classrooms.

Next week I will be at a conference presenting my paper, so hopefully I will be able to get some good photos and post them. Having said that, I've yet to select photos from my Hong Kong trip to post... oops. I've got some catching up to do it seems *giggles*.

My social life has gone quiet now too. My juniors in the department are starting their 2nd years now so they are becoming more work orientated, which means less coffee time (*^x^*)
Several members of staff have left the faculty now and moved onto other institutions, including a Sensei I've known for a while.
I'll be moving to a new office soon too, finally. Just in limbo at the moment, waiting around for desks to be vacated and so on.
I can't wait; it'll be nice to get out of the faculty professor office, even though it's a lovely place, a change of environment will be refreshing.

So apart from spending time in front of my computer and buried under mountains of paperwork that are threatening to avalanche on top of me, I've been spending more time with my brother. Spending days off laughing until we get cramps watching Running Man and various variety shows; he knows how to cheer me up when I'm feeling off.

Started to read Dorian Grey by Oscar Wilde too, it's a good book. Sometimes it's too quiet on this end, I rarely get text messages (SMS) nowadays, everything has quietened down since May. Luckily there is a good TV drama on lately to take my mind off things. The main romance plot is very sweet and I can relate to their personalities. (*^.^*)

Right now I just want to finish these transcripts; they're really soul destroying! Haha. Then hopefully I'll be on the straight run home and I can land safely on that runway, put the brakes down then relax.
I'm looking forward to that.

Until then I'll be listening to music through my BOSE headphones, or doing interview transcripts. Steadily and surely making my way towards the light.
