Rainy Days and Coffee...

The weather here has generally been miserable.
Much rain, icy cold days many degrees under zero, sometimes snow.



My life hasn't been too busy, perhaps slightly hectic. It just feels busy because my mind is constantly preoccupied with various strands of thoughts and conversations with myself.
To everyone else I am progressing strong through life; my PhD is going well, steady and surely, achieving great things... and my personal life is peaceful with much giggling and laughter.
I'm just missing some inspiration, something exhilarating perhaps, a muse that really excites me.
But I'm in no rush.

And whilst I ponder on the meaning of life and it's various burdens and moments of joy or happiness, there is nothing better to do than to sit down and sip a good strong blend of coffee.
A golden macchiato perhaps? Or do I fancy a frothy cappuccino? Maybe it'll be a smooth latte today? Do I indulge in a mocha or brave a dark espresso?

It's comforting with its warmth when I hold it in the clasp of my hands against my palms, fingers entwining around it.
Comforting yet the smell of the golden blend encourages your mind to think clearly.
Pushing away unneeded thoughts, no more clutter, just clarity.

Very few scenarios feel better than sitting in a quaint cafe watching the world go by as you sit with your coffee, and perhaps a good book, or a journal...
Letting you escape from the bustling world of reality.

Slowly, I guess I'm associating coffees with my moods or my purpose..
Seeing the skilful latte art on the top brings a subtle slight smile to my face; little things that bring pleasure. Simplicity.

Perhaps one day a coffee will enlighten me and find me my muse..

than just a shot of caffeine to get me through the day...
