My Handmade Japanese Washi Paper Box

I handmade a Japanese craft paper box not long ago. It's made from Japanese Washi 和紙. There are several types of these for different uses, but they are often used to bind books, make boxes and other handmade crafts such as origami. Washi is charactistically flexible, almost like cloth, which makes it a beautiful material to work with.

It's difficult to see in the photos, but the pattern on my washi boxes has gold and metallic shimmer on it and is reminiscent of the gold thread on kimono silks.

I've used this box as a scent box, and have placed sandalwood balls inside that have been lightly soaked in lavendar oil to fill my bedroom with a light, calming fragrance. I'm not so interested in burning incense, so I thought I'll find my own way of diffusing fragrance in my room (*^^*)

Perhaps it'll invoke sweet dreams ❤

My New Pearl Bracelet

Pearls mean honesty, integrity, pureness, calmness and concentration. 

They're sometimes called the "Teardrops of the Moon", and are often associated with water, the Moon and Angels. Some people believe they are formed by the the passage of Angels.

Asians, such as the Chinese and Japanese believe pearls to bring luck and good fortune.

A symbol for elegance and femininity.

My mother bought me this today as she said it suited me.

 So, I thought I'll post it here with my Obsidian bracelet and one of my favourite charms (*^^*). I wear the black Obsidian bracelet all the time as I've become accustomed to having it with me at all times. I just feel comfortable with it.

Wasabi Calbee Prawn Crackers

I absolutely love Calbee Prawn Crackers and these are the Wasabi version, which means they're smothered in Wasabi powder. It's too good to be true. (*^0^*) I like the original version too..

Spontaneous muffin cake day!

So today I donned my Hello Kitty apron (yes, Hello Kitty) and decided to bake cupcakes with whatever I can find (*^^*)

Turns out the cherries and sultanas were too heavy and large for my mixture that they sunk to the bottom. But nonetheless they were delicious and sold out in 2 minutes! My parents were chomping one after one Hehe (*^0^*). Everyone was so eager to eat them they ended up with burnt tongues haha!

My brother came back and asked for more.. but they were all gone by then! Bless, I'll make more next time (*^^*)

My home economics teacher had always said I had a talent for baking (*^.~*)

Also, it meant that today I could use my cake stand hehe!! Oh and my polka dot papercases....
