The Simple Things In Life

When life gets tough, gives you a rocky road, mountains to climb, seas to cross and oceans to explore... You just need to enjoy the scenery. Make the most of the moment.

I haven't posted for so many months but I woke up this morning feeling this tranquilness, and wanting to post... My life has been hectic, manic, chaotic... and all those words don't even cover it. But each day I'm waking up trying to be stronger.

I'm glad Mister Sunshine is visiting more often and summer is slowly coming.

I'm getting used to waking up to sun shining through my windows and a summer morning breeze...Lying on my bed, embraced by duvets, blankets and marshmallow pillows. Listening to the birds sing.

Sometimes the simple things in life makes you the most content. And it makes me ready to walk those rocky roads, climb those mountains, cross the seas and dive down into the deepest of oceans.

Don't underestimate me...

It's a really sunny day today, so decided I should write... it's put me in a nice calm mood.
Not been too busy, but little bits and bobs in life take up so much time! And since I'm starting to write up my PhD, I've been trying to get some decent part of my chapter done before I see my supervisors.

Also... I've finally got my license for air rifles, after several months of airsoft shooting (BB Guns)!

A New Year Ahead...

It's been over two months since I've last written. 

Since it's New Year's Eve, I thought it was rather appropriate to sit down on my bed and tap this out on my laptop whilst I can hear the constant icy breeze blowing past my slightly ajar window, occasionally interrupted by the pop and cackle of fireworks in the neighbourhood.

Reminiscing over my Instagram photos this year I realised that actually, although time has flown by, a lot of things have happened this year. Traveling to various places, meeting new people, moving offices, progressing at work, eating and trying new foods... many many things.

Just makes me think that whilst our day to day life causes us to become slightly tunnel visioned, or burdened with the daily stresses in life, we shouldn't forget what we have achieved. And most importantly, to look forward, straight ahead, and keep going. It doesn't matter if there is no clear goal, or things seem uncertain - just look ahead in a direction you feel is right.

I think this year, I'm becoming more and more myself, going towards a direction with confidence in being me. Knowing what I want, I need, and what I stand for. It doesn't matter how many brick walls I hit on the way, but I know that what has happened will be the reason why I am who I am. Both the good and bad things that happen will make you better if you take time to reflect and improve yourself where suitable.

So... I spent my weekend and my day off on Monday making lots of 김밥 with my dongsaeng so that we have plenty in the fridge for me to take to the office in my お弁当 today for lunch (*^~^*). So much fun and very delicious! Was using different things to make a variety of fillings.

I'm back from the British Academy of Management conference, an international conference which was held in Liverpool this year.

Stop the clock...

Time has flown by, and so much has happened but yet at the same I feel like barely anything has changed...

I haven't been writing much, simply I felt there was little to say, and perhaps things I wanted to say felt wrong to disclose. I think the last time I had written was in July, briefly, and the time before that was in May. I can't believe it's September already.

It is soothing to know that simple things can really make you smile and lighten up your day. We should always make time for these little things and not rush through our lives lest we miss out on the little doses of happiness we can get in life (*^^*)

Actually this came from my friend in Japan *giggles* so I must thank her m(_ _)m for thinking of me and sending such a sweet gift through the post which must have confused the hell out of my department and who ever deals with post hahaha...

Sometimes The Sun Does Shine

The weather here has been crazy; sometimes sunny and then cloudy, then sunny again and a sudden hailstorm! It just won't make up its mind!
And even when it does, the temparature is not exactly warm. The odd one day it was warm: 16 degrees celsius. But usually it's quite windy and chilly.

But when the sun does shine.. it's rather pretty... (*^~^*)

Burnt Out Eyes (X_X)

Hey there,

Is everyone ready for Xmas? I'm sure needing a break!


So what has been happening lately? Well not much as you can gather. I haven't been able to update this blog for a while... it's been busy.

I have been doing data analysis for the past... almost 3 months and I have seriously burnt my eyes out. Working stupid hours of between 10-16 hours straight on the computer everyday, dealing with hundreds of data entries don't do your eyes any good, no matter how much sleep you (try to) get. I'm definitely needing a good week of sleeping non-stop, at least!

Although I had an opportunity to be a journalist and wrote my first commentary to be publish... (*^^*) So there were some perks along the way... even if I feel like death warmed up by the end of it!

The eclipse has passed...

After several days of calm consideration, the darkness has finally lifted.
I was reminded that I should never have to tolerate something that is unfairly targeted at me, that I should never have to deal with people that waste my time and efforts and above all, should never be unjustly hurt by people.

I have reflected, just like the moon in the water and I sought to find my wrong-doings. But just as the water is clear, I have a clear conscience.

And thus, I will return to being myself. I will not allow people to assume that I can be walked all over and become their puppet.
